The future of CLCWA !!?
November 8, 2007 @ 08:39 AM

So, we are over the half-way point in the project's 12 month activity cycle, time is flying, and now, the coordinations teams, advisors, funding and implementing organizations are starting to put togheter a series of processes to ensure either full sustainability when the initial funding period (and funds) runs out or, a phase II. For this, we need the inputs from each and everyone of you project and non-project members. Options/solutions/tasks need to be developed both nationally for each team and regionally for the project's global advancement.
A question could be:
- What are the steps to take in making sure this project is durable?
-What could be possible sustainability venues in this project's context?
Thanks in advance for your collaboration!

Dear All,
I propose that, to make this project durable,
We should involve several delegates from youth organisations.
Involve local government and partners for financial aspects. and define another action plan for maybe two years.

Thanks for your inputs Pascal! i do agree with your ideas. i am finding it hard to confirm that what you suggest is what we are doing as, its what is meant to be done but hard to tell if the efforts in building partnerships with governements and acquiring collaboration from local youth organization is really happening, to the extent we need it to happen. I wonder what best strategy we could use, in both situations, to get the involvement and interest we need to secure this project's sustainability, especially only after 1 year.
As for building a long-term (2 yr) plan, i do agree that this would be highly beneficial at this point, thats a great suggestion. As for most things, as this project's implementation varies widely from country to country, i guess a lot of this plan development would come from national teams, not so much from the regional coordination.
What do you all think/suggest on this?

As CLC WA project aims to contributein african social and economic development throught youth potential, one of the most important thing to ensure the project sustanaibility and secure it in long term at national level is to find ways to develop job and internship opportunities.
The work can't be done without the support of partners organizations and new funding opprtunities .
Also, keep on efforts to promote training for trainers is an useful method to strenghten capacities because in field trained people become the future trainers and it's like that the process will continue.
The CLC WA project have to enable more concrete employment opportunities for young people.

I mean CLC WA program offers ICT training opportunities, host organizations to make this program sustanaible have to focus on employment opportunities development, it's my point of wiew because if many young african want to leave their country to study or work abroad its because there is a real lack of job and professionnal education opportunities.
